PCD Reconditioning & Retipping

PCD Reconditioning & Retipping:

PCD (Polycrystalline Diamond) tools are known for their excellent wear resistance and cutting performance, particularly in applications involving tough materials like metals, composites, and ceramics. However, eventhe most durable PCD tools experience wear and degradation over time due to prolonged use. PCD reconditioning and retipping are services that restore these tools to their original cutting efficiency, extending their lifespan and improving cost-effectiveness in manufacturing processes.

PCD Reconditioning

PCD reconditioning refers to the process of restoring the performance and sharpness of a worn PCD tool by rejuvenating the cutting edges and surfaces. This typically involves grinding, polishing, and re-coating the tool to bring it back to optimal working condition.

PCD Retipping

PCD retipping involves replacing or adding a new layer of PCD material to the worn-out cutting surface of the tool. This is especially important when the tool’s diamond tip has worn down significantly, but the base of the tool is still in good condition.
